Your license key
Have a license key? Paste it in the Studio on first launch. No key? Start a 30-day trial or ask your account owner.
The Studio opens on its License screen until this machine is activated. The key is sent once, to activate, and the Studio does not keep it. Each activated machine counts toward your plan: 1 on the trial, 1 on Individual, 3 on Team, 10 on Business. Activation guide
Check the file before you run it.
The SHA-256 above is the fingerprint of the installer we published. In PowerShell, in the folder you downloaded it to, run:
Get-FileHash .\<installer file> -Algorithm SHA256
- Compare the Hash it prints with the SHA-256 above. Capitals do not matter.
- If they differ, delete the file and download it again. Do not run it.
- Windows SmartScreen may stop a new installer with “Windows protected your PC”. Go past it only when the hashes match: choose More info, then Run anyway.
- Updates are checked the same way: the Studio downloads one only when you choose Update now, checks it against a signed SHA-256 and opens the installer for you to run. How updates work
What it needs
- Windows 11 x64 and 16 GB of RAM minimum. Nothing else is required to run tests on this machine.
- Internet for the license check: at activation, then every 24 hours. It keeps working 7 days without a check, shows a notice for 4 more, then turns read-only until it reconnects.
- In the installer: the Studio, the engine, Node.js 24 LTS and the Playwright 1.62.1 test runner. The Playwright browsers download once, before the first local run.
- Only for the features that use them: Python 3.10 or later, Google Chrome for Selenium, adb for real Android phones, Docker Desktop, the OpenSSH Client, a VPS. The Studio's Setup screen checks Python, Chrome, adb and Docker.
